CVE-2009-0033 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Apache Tomcat 4.1.0 through 4.1.39, 5.5.0 through 5.5.27, and 6.0.0 through 6.0.18 when the Java AJP connector is used with mod_jk load balancing. A crafted request containing invalid headers, including a malformed HTTP Host header, causes the AJP connection to close. mod_jk marks the affected load-balancing worker as being in an error state and temporarily blocks it for approximately one minute. Repeated requests can place available workers into this state and interrupt application availability.
