CVE-2009-1492 is a memory corruption vulnerability in the getAnnots Doc method of the JavaScript API in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. Affected versions include Reader/Acrobat 9.1, 8.1.4, 7.1.1, and earlier. The flaw is triggered when a victim opens a specially crafted PDF containing an annotation and an OpenAction entry with JavaScript that invokes getAnnots() using crafted integer arguments. Improper handling of these arguments can corrupt memory, leading to application crash or arbitrary code execution in the context of the user running Reader or Acrobat.
