A race condition in PulseAudio versions 0.9.9, 0.9.10, and 0.9.14 allows local users to escalate privileges. The vulnerability is triggered by the creation of a hard link and manipulation of the LD_BIND_NOW environment variable, followed by execution of the target of the /proc/self/exe symlink. This sequence can allow a local attacker to execute code with elevated privileges due to improper handling of file links and process execution.
