CVE-2009-1955 is an XML entity-expansion denial-of-service vulnerability in the Expat parser exposed through Apache APR-util's apr_xml interface before version 1.3.7. Apache HTTP Server deployments using mod_dav or mod_dav_svn can parse attacker-controlled XML containing a large number of nested DTD entity references. Insufficient restriction of recursive entity expansion permits a small XML document to expand excessively in memory, constituting an XML bomb (Billion Laughs-style) condition.
