CVE-2009-4462 is a stack-based buffer overflow in the NetBiterConfig utility (NetBiterConfig.exe) version 1.3.0 for IntelliCom NetBiter WebSCADA. The flaw is triggered when the utility processes a crafted HICP-protocol UDP packet containing an overly long hn (hostname) parameter. Improper bounds checking on this hostname field can overwrite stack memory, allowing an attacker on the network to corrupt execution flow and potentially execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected process.
