CVE-2009-4496 is a log injection vulnerability in Boa 0.94.14rc21. The server writes attacker-controlled HTTP request data to a log file without sanitizing non-printable characters, including terminal escape sequences. An attacker can send a crafted HTTP request containing terminal emulator control sequences that are then stored in the log. When the log is later viewed in a terminal that interprets those sequences, the attacker may manipulate terminal display behavior, such as altering the window title, and in some environments this may lead to command execution or file overwrite effects through terminal escape sequence handling.
