Awingsoft Awakening Winds3D Viewer plugin 3.5.0.9 permits remote attackers to execute arbitrary programs by supplying a SceneURL property that references an executable file. The plugin accepts a URL for a .exe file through the SceneURL property, allowing attacker-selected programs to be executed.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2009-4850) in the AwingSoft Winds3D Player 3.5 browser plugin. The exploit works by serving a malicious HTML page that embeds the vulnerable plugin and sets its 'SceneURL' parameter to point to a payload hosted by the attacker's server. When a victim visits the page with a vulnerable browser and plugin, the plugin downloads and executes the attacker's payload (a Windows executable generated by Metasploit). The module is fully weaponized, allowing the attacker to specify any Metasploit payload. The main endpoints involved are the attacker's HTTP server (serving the payload and HTML) and the official AwingSoft CAB file for the plugin. The exploit is delivered via a browser attack vector and is effective against Windows systems running the vulnerable plugin version.
