CVE-2010-1818 is an untrusted pointer dereference vulnerability in the IPersistPropertyBag2::Read function of Apple QuickTime's QTPlugin.ocx ActiveX control. The control processes the undocumented _Marshaled_pUnk attribute such that an attacker-controlled value is unmarshalled as a pointer. This unsafe unmarshalling permits remote code execution.

This repository contains a single Metasploit exploit module targeting a memory trust issue in Apple QuickTime Player versions 7.6.6 and 7.6.7 on Windows XP SP3. The exploit abuses the QuickTime ActiveX control (CLSID: 02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B) via a specially crafted HTML page served by the attacker's HTTP server. The exploit uses heap spraying and a ROP chain leveraging the QuickTimeAuthoring.qtx DLL to bypass DEP and ASLR protections, resulting in reliable code execution. The payload is customizable via Metasploit and is delivered through JavaScript embedded in the malicious HTML. The module is operational and can be used to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable systems when a user visits the attacker's web page with a vulnerable configuration. The only file present is the Metasploit module itself, written in Ruby, with embedded JavaScript for the client-side portion of the attack.
