CVE-2010-20121 is a stack-based buffer overflow in EasyFTP Server versions up to and including 1.7.0.11. The flaw is in the FTP command parser’s handling of the CWD (Change Working Directory) command: the server does not properly validate the length of the supplied path string before copying or processing it, allowing an attacker to overwrite stack memory. Because EasyFTP permits anonymous access by default, the issue can be exploited remotely without prior authentication. Successful exploitation can corrupt control data on the stack and lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the EasyFTP Server process. The issue was fixed in version 1.7.0.12, after which the product was renamed UplusFtp.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module that exploits a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in EasyFTP Server versions 1.7.0.11 and earlier (CVE-2010-20121). The exploit targets the FTP service by sending a specially crafted 'CWD' command, which overflows a stack buffer and allows arbitrary code execution. The module includes a technique ('fixRet') to increase the payload size by patching the return address after exploitation. The exploit is weaponized, allowing the attacker to deliver any Metasploit-compatible Windows payload (such as a reverse shell or Meterpreter session). The module is written in Ruby and is structured according to Metasploit conventions, with methods for checking the target, constructing the exploit buffer, and handling the payload. The only fingerprintable endpoint is the FTP service (typically on TCP port 21) of the vulnerable EasyFTP Server. No hardcoded IPs, URLs, or file paths are present in the exploit code.
