CVE-2010-4233 is an exposure of undocumented default credentials in the Linux-based operating system of the Camtron CMNC-200 Full HD IP Camera, the TecVoz CMNC-200 Megapixel IP Camera, and OEM variants running firmware 1.102A-008. The device contains built-in accounts, including a root account and an additional system account, with preset passwords that are not intended for normal administrative disclosure. These accounts can be used to authenticate over the device's TELNET service, which is reported to be enabled and not normally disableable. The vulnerability weakens the authentication boundary by providing attackers with valid remote login credentials out of the box, enabling direct operating-system-level access to the camera.
