HP Data Protector Client contains an input-validation flaw in handling of the EXEC_SETUP command. A remote attacker can reference a UNC share pathname in this command to cause the client to execute an arbitrary program.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2011-0922) in HP Data Protector (versions 6.10, 6.11, 6.20) on Windows. The exploit abuses the OmniInet process's install service function to force the target to download and execute a payload from an attacker-controlled SMB share. The attacker must set up an SMB server with a share named 'Omniback' and a subfolder 'i386', hosting the payload executable. The exploit connects to the target's TCP port 5555, fingerprints the service, and then triggers the download and execution of the payload, resulting in SYSTEM-level code execution. The module is written in Ruby and is designed for use within the Metasploit framework. No hardcoded IPs or domains are present, but the SMB share path and TCP port are fingerprintable. The exploit is operational and requires some attacker setup but provides full remote code execution if successful.
