Ruby on Rails 3.0.5 contains an input-validation flaw in the to_s method of ActionDispatch::Middleware::RemoteIp. For requests originating from IP addresses on a Class C network, the middleware does not validate the X-Forwarded-For header. A remote attacker can submit a crafted header to inject arbitrary text into log files or bypass the middleware's intended address parsing.
