Beckhoff TwinCAT versions 2.11.0.2004 and earlier contain a vulnerability where a remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to UDP port 48899, triggering an out-of-bounds read. This flaw is due to improper bounds checking when processing incoming UDP packets, which can result in the application reading memory outside the intended buffer.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module targeting a denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability in Beckhoff TwinCAT SCADA PLC software (version 2.11.0.2004 and earlier). The exploit works by sending a specially crafted UDP packet to port 48899, which is handled by the TCATSysSrv.exe process on the target system. Upon receipt, the process crashes, resulting in a denial of service for the SCADA PLC. The module is written in Ruby and leverages Metasploit's auxiliary and UDP modules. The code is operational and can be used to reliably crash the vulnerable service, as evidenced by the included debugger output showing an access violation in the target process. The only fingerprintable endpoints are the UDP port 48899 and the TCATSysSrv.exe process. The exploit is not a detection script or a fake; it is a functional DoS exploit.
