CVE-2011-3491 is a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Progea Movicon / PowerHMI versions 11.2.1085 and earlier. The flaw is triggered by improper handling of HTTP requests with a negative Content-Length field, allowing remote attackers to send specially crafted requests that cause a buffer overflow in the application. This vulnerability is remotely exploitable via TCP port 808 and can result in a denial of service (crash) or potentially allow arbitrary code execution in the context of the Movicon application. The vulnerability is critical, with a CVSS v2 base score of 10.0, and public exploits are available.
