CVE-2011-3498 is a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Progea Movicon / PowerHMI versions 11.2.1085 and earlier. The flaw is triggered by sending a long HTTP request to the service listening on TCP port 808, resulting in a heap overflow condition. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely and may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (crash) or potentially execute arbitrary code on the affected system. The vulnerability is present in software widely used in industrial control systems, increasing its criticality.
