CVE-2011-4367 is a directory traversal vulnerability in Apache MyFaces Core (JavaServer Faces) affecting the 2.0.x branch before 2.0.12 and the 2.1.x branch before 2.1.6. The flaw exists in JSF resource handling under the faces/javax.faces.resource/ path, where traversal sequences (.. ) are not properly neutralized. According to the provided details, arbitrary file read is possible via either the ln parameter in requests such as faces/javax.faces.resource/web.xml or via crafted PATH_INFO values to faces/javax.faces.resource/. This allows a remote attacker to traverse outside the intended resource directory and access files elsewhere on the server filesystem that are readable by the application process.
