CVE-2012-0013 is an incomplete blacklist vulnerability in the Windows Packager configuration affecting Microsoft Windows XP SP2/SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2/R2/R2 SP1, and Windows 7 Gold/SP1. The flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by embedding a crafted ClickOnce application (.application file) within a Microsoft Office document. The vulnerability arises from insufficient filtering of file types that can be executed, enabling attackers to bypass intended restrictions and trigger execution of malicious assemblies.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (ms12_005.rb) that exploits CVE-2012-0013, a vulnerability in Microsoft Office's ClickOnce feature. The exploit targets Office Word 2007/2010 on Windows 7, allowing an attacker to craft a malicious macro-enabled document (DOCM) that bypasses security warnings and executes arbitrary code. The module generates a DOCM file containing an embedded OLE object, which is patched to include a downloader payload (in Python or Ruby). When the victim opens the document, the payload connects to the attacker's server to download and execute a malicious executable (the final payload, typically a reverse shell or Meterpreter). The module leverages Metasploit's file format and executable generation capabilities, and requires the attacker to deliver the document to the victim and have a listener ready to serve the payload. The code is operational and weaponized for use within the Metasploit framework.
