CVE-2012-0788 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the PDORow implementation in PHP before 5.3.9. The flaw arises from improper interaction between PDORow objects and PHP's session handling. A crafted application flow that performs a fetch through a PDO driver and subsequently invokes session_start can trigger an application crash. The issue was demonstrated to crash Apache HTTP Server hosting the affected PHP runtime. The vulnerability is rooted in incorrect handling of exceptional or unsafe conditions during the interaction between database row objects and the session subsystem.
