CVE-2012-2311 is an argument-injection vulnerability in the PHP CGI SAPI implementation in sapi/cgi/cgi_main.c. PHP versions before 5.3.13 and PHP 5.4 versions before 5.4.3, when deployed as php-cgi, improperly process query strings containing a percent-encoded equals-sign sequence but no literal equals sign. A remote attacker can use this parsing condition to pass PHP command-line options in the query string and execute arbitrary code. The flaw is an incomplete fix for CVE-2012-1823.
