CVE-2012-2329 is a buffer overflow in the apache_request_headers function in sapi/cgi/cgi_main.c in PHP 5.4.x before 5.4.3. The flaw is triggered when PHP is handling HTTP request headers in the CGI SAPI and receives an excessively long header string. A remote attacker can send a crafted HTTP request containing an overlong header value, causing memory corruption that results in an application crash.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/windows/http/php_apache_request_headers_bof.rb) that exploits a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2012-2329) in the CGI version of PHP 5.4.x before 5.4.3, specifically when running on Windows with Apache 2.2.22. The exploit targets the insecure handling of HTTP headers by the apache_request_headers function. The module constructs a malicious HTTP request with a specially crafted header to trigger the overflow, allowing arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the web server process. The payload is customizable via Metasploit and is delivered as part of the exploit. The default target endpoint is '/php/test.php', but this can be configured. The module is operational and provides a working exploit for vulnerable configurations.
