Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities exist in the Plixer Scrutinizer web console, also known as Dell SonicWALL Scrutinizer, in versions prior to 9.5.0. The flaws affect the web interface components handling requests to exporters.php and contextMenu.php. Specifically, insufficient input validation and output encoding allow attacker-controlled data from the query string and the HTTP Referer header in exporters.php, as well as unspecified input processed by contextMenu.php, to be reflected or otherwise rendered in a victim’s browser as arbitrary script or HTML. Successful exploitation occurs in the context of a user interacting with the vulnerable web console and can result in execution of attacker-supplied client-side code within that user’s authenticated session.
