CVE-2012-4333 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the BackupToAvi method of the UMS_Ctrl 1.5.1.1 and UMS_Ctrl_STW 2.0.1.0 ActiveX controls used by Samsung NET-i viewer 1.37.120316. The vulnerability is triggered by passing an overly long string to the fname parameter, which can overwrite the stack and allow for arbitrary code execution.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a buffer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2012-4333) in the CNC_Ctrl.dll ActiveX control (version 1.5.1.1) installed with Samsung NET-i Viewer 1.37. The exploit is delivered via a malicious HTML page served by the Metasploit framework, which uses JavaScript heap spraying to deliver shellcode. The attack vector is a browser (Internet Explorer 6 or 7 on Windows XP SP3) that loads the vulnerable ActiveX control and triggers the BackupToAvi() method with a specially crafted long string, resulting in remote code execution. The module allows for customizable payloads and can obfuscate the JavaScript if desired. The only fingerprintable endpoints are the CLSID of the vulnerable ActiveX control and a reference URL to the original advisory. The code is operational and ready for use within the Metasploit framework.
