CVE-2012-6710 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in eXtplorer through version 2.1.2. The issue is in ext_find_user and can be triggered during a login request to index.php with action=login by supplying password[]=, i.e., an empty array parameter, instead of a normal scalar password value. Improper handling of this crafted password parameter allows a remote attacker to bypass the normal authentication logic and gain access without valid credentials.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (extplorer_upload_exec.rb) that exploits an authentication bypass and arbitrary file upload vulnerability in eXtplorer versions 2.1.0 to 2.1.2 and 2.1.0RC5. The exploit works by bypassing authentication, uploading a PHP payload to a writable directory, and then executing it to achieve remote code execution. The module interacts with the target via HTTP endpoints, specifically targeting the eXtplorer web application's index.php and extplorer.xml files. The payload is customizable and leverages Metasploit's payload system, making this a weaponized exploit. The code is written in Ruby and is structured according to Metasploit's exploit module conventions.
