A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the XMLSerializer component of Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey, specifically in the serializeToStream implementation. The vulnerability is triggered when web content manipulates the DOM during XML serialization, leading to a use-after-free condition. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted web content. The issue was reported by regenrecht through the Zero Day Initiative and tracked as Bug 814001.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a use-after-free vulnerability (CVE-2013-0753) in Mozilla Firefox versions 17.0, 17.0.1, and 17.0.1 ESR on Windows XP SP3. The exploit is delivered via a malicious HTML/JavaScript page served by the Metasploit HTTP server. When a vulnerable Firefox user on Windows XP SP3 visits the attacker's page, the exploit uses heap spraying and a crafted ROP chain to achieve arbitrary code execution. The module allows the attacker to deliver any Metasploit payload (such as a reverse shell or meterpreter session). The main entry point is the 'on_request_uri' function, which checks the User-Agent for the correct OS and browser version before serving the exploit. The repository is operational and weaponized for use within the Metasploit framework, and does not contain any detection or fake code.
