A vulnerability in the Chrome Object Wrapper (COW) implementation in Mozilla Firefox (before 18.0), Firefox ESR 17.x (before 17.0.2), Thunderbird (before 17.0.2), Thunderbird ESR 17.x (before 17.0.2), and SeaMonkey (before 2.15) allows remote attackers to modify the prototype of an object. By referencing Object.prototype.proto in a crafted HTML document, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript code with chrome privileges, bypassing intended security boundaries between web content and privileged browser code.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (firefox_svg_plugin.rb) that exploits two vulnerabilities (CVE-2013-0758 and CVE-2013-0757) in Mozilla Firefox 17.0 and 17.0.1. The exploit targets users with the Flash plugin installed and leverages a combination of SVG and Flash to gain code execution in the browser's privileged chrome context. The module serves a malicious HTML page and a specially crafted SWF file to the victim. Upon successful exploitation, it writes and executes a payload on the victim's system, providing remote code execution. The module is operational and allows for custom payloads via the Metasploit framework. The main attack vector is through the browser, requiring user interaction (visiting a malicious page). The code references fingerprintable endpoints such as the 'chrome://browser/content/' URL and the 'cve-2013-0758.swf' file used in the attack chain. The repository is structured as a typical Metasploit exploit module, written in Ruby, and includes embedded JavaScript and HTML for the browser-based attack.
