CVE-2013-10050 is an authenticated OS command injection vulnerability affecting multiple D-Link routers, confirmed on DIR-300 rev A firmware v1.05 and DIR-615 rev D firmware v4.13. The flaw is present in the web management interface CGI endpoint tools_vct.xgi, specifically due to improper sanitization of user-controlled input supplied via the pingIp parameter. An authenticated attacker can inject arbitrary shell metacharacters and commands into this parameter, causing the device to execute attacker-controlled commands in the underlying operating system context. The vulnerable firmware exposes tools_vct.xgi through the Mathopd/1.5p6 web server. Successful exploitation can lead to complete compromise of the router, including starting a telnet daemon and obtaining a root shell on the device.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting D-Link routers (such as the DIR-300) vulnerable to unauthenticated remote command execution (CVE-2013-10050). The exploit works by first authenticating to the router's web interface (default credentials: admin/admin), then exploiting a command injection vulnerability in the /tools_vct.xgi endpoint. The module injects a command to start a telnet daemon on a random high port, then connects to it, providing the attacker with an interactive shell. The code is written in Ruby and follows the standard Metasploit module structure, using the Msf::Exploit::Remote::HttpClient mixin. The main attack vector is network-based, targeting the router's HTTP interface. The module is operational and provides a working shell if the target is vulnerable and accessible.
