CVE-2013-4212 is an OGNL injection vulnerability in Apache Roller before version 5.0.2. The vulnerability exists in certain getText methods of the ActionSupport controller, which improperly handle user-supplied input in the first or second parameter. This allows remote attackers to inject and execute arbitrary OGNL expressions, as demonstrated by the pageTitle parameter in the !getPageTitle sub-URL to roller-ui/login.rol, which uses a subclass of UIAction.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/multi/http/apache_roller_ognl_injection.rb) that exploits an OGNL injection vulnerability (CVE-2013-4212) in Apache Roller versions prior to 5.0.2. The exploit targets the 'roller-ui/login.rol' endpoint, injecting OGNL expressions via the 'pageTitle' GET parameter. The module first checks for vulnerability by evaluating a simple arithmetic OGNL expression and verifying the result in the HTTP response. If vulnerable, it uploads a Java JAR payload in base64-encoded chunks using further OGNL injection, writes it to disk, and then loads and executes it via a custom classloader, achieving remote code execution. The exploit is weaponized, allowing for customizable payloads via the Metasploit framework. The only file in the repository is the Metasploit module itself, written in Ruby, and it leverages Metasploit's HttpClient and FileDropper mixins for network communication and file management.
