CVE-2013-4878 affects the default configuration of Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0.x and 9.2.x on UNIX, and Small Business Panel 10.x on UNIX. The issue is caused by an improper ScriptAlias directive for the phppath handler in the default web server configuration. This misconfiguration exposes a path in a way that makes it easier for a remote attacker to submit a crafted HTTP request that results in arbitrary code execution. The issue is explicitly noted as distinct from CVE-2012-1823, although it similarly enables code execution through crafted requests against PHP-related handling.
