Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) versions 11.0 before 11.0.7405.1424 and 12.1 before 12.1.4023.4080, as well as Symantec Protection Center Small Business Edition 12.x before 12.1.4023.4080, are vulnerable to an XML External Entity (XXE) injection in the management console. Remote attackers can exploit this by submitting crafted XML data containing external entity declarations, enabling them to read arbitrary files from the server's filesystem.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) versions 11.0, 12.0, and 12.1 running on Windows. The exploit leverages a combination of XML External Entity (XXE) and SQL injection vulnerabilities (CVE-2013-5014, CVE-2013-5015) in the SEPM web interface, specifically the '/servlet/ConsoleServlet' endpoint (default port 9090). By sending a specially crafted XML payload, the module exploits the XXE to reach a SQL injection point, which is then used to execute arbitrary system commands via xp_cmdshell, provided it is enabled (default in the bundled DB). The module uses Metasploit's command stager to deliver a VBS payload, resulting in SYSTEM-level code execution. The code is operational and provides a working remote command execution exploit, but payload customization is limited to what Metasploit's stager supports. The repository is structured as a single Ruby file compatible with the Metasploit framework, and all logic is contained within this file.
