CVE-2013-5688 is a set of directory traversal flaws in AjaXplorer 5.0.2 and earlier affecting index.php. Remote authenticated users can supply traversal sequences combined with a null-byte terminator in request parameters to escape the intended directory scope. The issue affects the file parameter in the download and get_content actions, enabling arbitrary file reads, and the dir parameter in the upload action, enabling placement of uploaded files outside the intended directory. In practical terms, the vulnerability allows an authenticated attacker to traverse outside the web root, access unintended files, and write attacker-controlled files to arbitrary locations reachable by the application.
