CVE-2013-7102 is an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the OptimizePress WordPress theme prior to version 1.61. The vulnerability exists in the media-upload.php, media-upload-lncthumb.php, and media-upload-sq_button.php scripts located in lib/admin/. These scripts fail to properly validate or restrict uploaded files, allowing remote attackers to upload files with executable extensions. Once uploaded, the attacker can directly access and execute the file via the images_comingsoon, images_lncthumbs, or images_optbuttons directories under wp-content/uploads/optpress/. This flaw was actively exploited in the wild in November 2013.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/unix/webapp/wp_optimizepress_upload.rb) that exploits a file upload vulnerability (CVE-2013-7102) in the WordPress OptimizePress theme (tested on version 1.45). The exploit works by sending a crafted HTTP POST request to the vulnerable media-upload.php endpoint, allowing the attacker to upload arbitrary PHP code. The module then locates the uploaded file and triggers its execution, resulting in remote code execution on the target server. The exploit is fully weaponized, leveraging Metasploit's payload system to deliver customizable PHP payloads. The only required configuration is the theme directory name, which defaults to 'OptimizePress'. The main attack vector is network-based, targeting a web application endpoint. The repository is structured as a standard Metasploit exploit module, written in Ruby, and is intended for use within the Metasploit Framework.
