CVE-2014-2127 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software affecting multiple 8.x and 9.x releases. The flaw is in the handling of management-session information during privilege validation for clientless SSL VPN portal connections. An authenticated user who establishes a Clientless SSL VPN session can submit crafted URLs, including ASDM-style management paths, to bypass intended privilege checks and obtain elevated administrative access on the firewall. The issue affects deployments where WebVPN and ASDM are enabled and permits escalation from an SSL VPN user context to highly privileged device management access.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary scanner module targeting Cisco ASA SSL VPN (WebVPN) devices vulnerable to CVE-2014-2127. The module exploits a privilege escalation flaw that allows an authenticated low-privilege (level 0) user to escalate to full administrative (level 15) access by issuing administrative commands through the web interface. The exploit works by logging in with provided credentials, verifying the target is a Cisco SSL VPN, and then attempting to create a new admin user by sending crafted HTTP requests to specific endpoints. The module reports successful privilege escalation by adding the new credentials to the Metasploit database. The code is written in Ruby and is structured as a typical Metasploit module, making use of the framework's HTTP client and reporting features. The main file of interest is 'modules/auxiliary/scanner/http/cisco_ssl_vpn_priv_esc.rb'.
