CVE-2014-3487 is an improper input-validation vulnerability in the cdf_read_property_info function used by file/libmagic when parsing Composite Document Format (CDF) files. The function does not adequately validate a stream offset. PHP's Fileinfo extension is affected because it uses this parsing functionality. Processing a specially crafted CDF file can cause the PHP application to crash.
