CVE-2014-3490 is an XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in RESTEasy 2.3.1 through 2.3.8.SP1 and RESTEasy 3.x before 3.0.9. It is an incomplete fix for CVE-2012-0818. When the resteasy.document.expand.entity.references setting is false, affected RESTEasy versions fail to disable external parameter entities during XML parsing. An attacker who can submit crafted XML containing a DTD and external parameter entity to a vulnerable RESTEasy endpoint can trigger external entity resolution.
