CVE-2014-3530 is an XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in PicketLink. The org.picketlink.common.util.DocumentUtil.getDocumentBuilderFactory() method returned a DocumentBuilderFactory configured to expand XML entity references without adequately restricting external entities. An unauthenticated remote attacker able to submit XML processed through this factory could cause resolution of attacker-controlled external entities. Affected deployments include PicketLink applications, particularly those using SAML Identity Provider or Service Provider functionality, in vulnerable JBoss product releases.
