An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the CoreGraphics component of Apple iOS before version 8 and Apple TV before version 7. The vulnerability can be triggered by a specially crafted PDF document, which, when processed, causes CoreGraphics to read memory outside the intended bounds. This can result in the disclosure of sensitive information or a crash of the affected application.

This repository is a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2014-4378, an information disclosure vulnerability in Apple's CoreGraphics library on iOS. The exploit targets MobileSafari on iOS 6.x and 7.x devices. It works by serving specially crafted PDF files (leak_code.pdf and leak_data.pdf) via a local Python CGI server (run.py). When a vulnerable device visits the index.html page, JavaScript loads the PDFs as images, triggering the CoreGraphics bug and leaking memory addresses (dyld_shared_cache and shellcode location) to the browser. These leaks can be used to bypass exploit mitigations such as ASLR, DEP, and CodeSigning, and are useful for chaining with other exploits. The repository includes Python scripts (mkLeakCode.py, mkLeakData.py) to generate the malicious PDFs, a minimal PDF library (miniPDF.py), and tools for porting the exploit to other iOS versions (tools/calcbase.py, tools/gadgets.py). The exploit is not weaponized but provides a clear demonstration of the vulnerability and the information disclosure primitive.
