CVE-2014-4492 is a type confusion vulnerability in libnetcore affecting Apple iOS before 8.1.3, OS X before 10.10.2, and Apple TV before 7.0.3. The vulnerability arises because libnetcore does not verify that certain values in XPC messages have the expected data type. This flaw allows a sandboxed application to send a specially crafted XPC message to the _networkd daemon, bypassing type checks and potentially leading to arbitrary code execution within the _networkd context.
