CVE-2014-5468 is a file inclusion vulnerability in Railo 4.2.1 and earlier. The vulnerability exists in the thumbnail.cfm component, which processes user-supplied input to specify a PNG file. By crafting a malicious URL, an attacker can cause the application to include and process arbitrary files, potentially leading to sensitive information disclosure or remote code execution.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/railo_cfml_rfi.rb) that exploits a remote file include vulnerability (CVE-2014-5468) in Railo CFML server (tested on version 4.2.1). The exploit works by abusing the thumbnail.cfm endpoint to upload a crafted PNG file containing ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML) code, which is then executed by the server. The module sets up a local HTTP server to serve the stager and payload, and uses directory traversal to place and execute the payload on the target. The exploit provides remote code execution capabilities, allowing the attacker to run arbitrary commands on the target server. The code is written in Ruby and is fully integrated into the Metasploit framework, supporting customizable command execution payloads. The main endpoints targeted are /res/images/id.png (for vulnerability check), /admin/thumbnail.cfm (for exploitation), and /admin/img.cfm (for payload execution), with file system traversal to the temp/admin-ext-thumbnails directory.
