GNU Bash through 4.3 bash43-026 improperly parses function definitions embedded in environment variable values. CVE-2014-6277 is an incomplete-fix follow-on to the original Shellshock issues (including CVE-2014-6271 and CVE-2014-7169). A crafted environment presented across a privilege boundary to a Bash process can trigger arbitrary code execution, or denial of service via uninitialized memory access and untrusted-pointer read/write behavior. Documented exposure vectors include OpenSSH sshd ForceCommand, Apache HTTP Server mod_cgi and mod_cgid, DHCP client script execution, and other cases where attacker-controlled environment variables are passed to Bash.
