CVE-2014-6593 is an unspecified vulnerability in the JSSE component of Oracle Java SE 5.0u75, 6u85, 7u72, and 8u25; Java SE Embedded 7u71 and 8u6; and JRockit 27.8.4 and 28.3.4. The flaw can be exploited remotely and affects confidentiality and integrity. Publicly available information identifies the affected component as JSSE but does not provide sufficient technical detail about the vulnerable function, root cause, or exact attack mechanism.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module: 'Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) SKIP-TLS MITM Proxy'. The module exploits CVE-2014-6593, a vulnerability in Java's JSSE implementation, which allows an attacker to perform a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack and downgrade the security of a TLS session. The module acts as a proxy, sitting between a Java client and a server. It completes the TLS handshake prematurely, causing the client to send application data in plaintext, which the module then forwards to the real server over a separate TLS connection. The intercepted plaintext data is saved for later analysis. The module requires the attacker to be in a position to intercept and redirect client connections (i.e., MITM capability). The main configuration options are the addresses and ports for the proxy, the real server, and an optional fake server. The code is written in Ruby and is intended to be run within the Metasploit Framework. No hardcoded IPs or domains are present; all endpoints are user-configurable.
