An eval injection vulnerability exists in the internals.batch function in lib/batch.js in the bassmaster plugin before version 1.5.2 for the hapi server framework for Node.js. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code by exploiting unspecified vectors that result in untrusted input being passed to an eval call.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/multi/http/bassmaster_js_injection.rb) that exploits CVE-2014-7205, a remote code execution vulnerability in the Bassmaster plugin for the hapi Node.js framework (versions <= 1.5.1). The exploit targets the /batch HTTP endpoint, which is vulnerable to arbitrary JavaScript injection due to unsafe use of eval. The module works by sending a specially crafted POST request to the /batch endpoint, injecting JavaScript that uses Node.js's child_process.exec to download and execute an attacker-hosted ELF binary payload. The exploit sets up a local HTTP server to serve the payload, and the payload is dropped to a random file in /tmp on the target. The module is operational and provides remote code execution on Linux and BSD platforms. The only file in the repository is the Metasploit exploit module, written in Ruby, and it is fully self-contained.
