CVE-2014-7862 is a critical vulnerability in ManageEngine Desktop Central and Desktop Central MSP (all versions from v7 up to but not including 9.0 build 90109) where the DCPluginServelet servlet allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to create administrator accounts via the addPlugInUser action. This enables attackers to gain full administrative access to the Desktop Central management console and, by extension, all managed endpoints.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module targeting ManageEngine Desktop Central (and MSP) from version 7 onwards. The module exploits CVE-2014-7862, an administrator account creation vulnerability, by sending a specially crafted HTTP GET request to the /servlets/DCPluginServelet endpoint. The attacker can specify the username, password, and email for the new admin account, with the password being base64-encoded and salted. The module is operational and, upon successful exploitation, creates a new administrator account on the target system. The code is written in Ruby and is structured as a standard Metasploit module, making use of the Metasploit framework's HTTP client and credential reporting features. The only fingerprintable endpoint is the vulnerable servlet path. The exploit is not a detection script and does not contain any fake or destructive code.
