CVE-2014-8440 is a memory corruption vulnerability in Adobe Flash Player (prior to 13.0.0.252, 14.x and 15.x before 15.0.0.223 on Windows and OS X, and before 11.2.202.418 on Linux) and Adobe AIR (prior to 15.0.0.356). The flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via unspecified vectors. The vulnerability was rapidly weaponized by the Angler Exploit Kit, which integrated the exploit into its arsenal less than nine days after Adobe released a patch.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting CVE-2014-8440, an uninitialized memory vulnerability in Adobe Flash Player's ByteArray::UncompressViaZlibVariant method. The exploit is delivered via a malicious web page that serves a crafted SWF file to vulnerable browsers (Internet Explorer 8 or 11) running on Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit) or Windows 8.1 with Flash Player 15.0.0.189 or earlier. The module generates an HTML page embedding the SWF, which is responsible for triggering the vulnerability and delivering a Metasploit payload (such as a shell) to the victim. The exploit leverages the Metasploit framework's BrowserExploitServer to serve the malicious content and handle incoming requests. The only external endpoint referenced is the official Macromedia Flash CAB file, used for object instantiation in the HTML. The SWF payload is loaded from the Metasploit data directory. The module is operational and can be used to achieve remote code execution on vulnerable systems.
