An XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability exists in the Server Task Log component of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) versions prior to 4.6.9 and 5.x prior to 5.1.2. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of XML input in the conditionXML parameter to the taskLogTable or orionUpdateTableFilter.do endpoints, allowing remote authenticated users to submit crafted XML containing external entity references.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module (modules/auxiliary/gather/mcafee_epo_xxe.rb) targeting authenticated XXE vulnerabilities (CVE-2015-0921, CVE-2015-0922) in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator. The module exploits the vulnerability by authenticating to the ePO web interface with valid credentials, navigating through several endpoints to set up the environment, and then injecting a malicious XML payload via a POST request to /core/orionUpdateTableFilter.do. This payload causes the server to read the keystore.properties file, which contains an encrypted password used for the 'sa' SQL Server user and possibly the 'admin' account. The module then decrypts this password using a static AES-128-ECB key, providing the attacker with credentials that may allow further privilege escalation or remote command execution. The exploit requires network access to the ePO server and valid user credentials. The code is written in Ruby and is designed to be run within the Metasploit framework.
