CVE-2015-1587 is an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in file_to_index.php in Maarch LetterBox 2.8 and earlier and GEC/GED 1.4 and earlier. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to upload arbitrary files with a PHP extension, which can then be executed by accessing the file via a predictable path in the tmp/ directory. This enables attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code on the server.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting Maarch LetterBox 2.8 (CVE-2015-1587). The exploit leverages an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the file_to_index.php script, allowing unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary PHP files and execute them remotely. The module is written in Ruby and uses the Metasploit framework's HTTP client and file dropper utilities. The main exploit flow is: (1) check for the presence of the application via /login.php, (2) upload a randomly named PHP payload to /file_to_index.php, (3) parse the server's response to determine the uploaded file's path, and (4) trigger the payload by sending a GET request to the uploaded PHP file. The exploit is weaponized, supporting customizable payloads via Metasploit, and provides remote code execution on the target server. The only file in the repository is the Metasploit module itself.
