CVE-2015-2049 is an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in D-Link DCS-931L network cameras running firmware version 1.04 and earlier. The vulnerability allows remote authenticated users to upload files with executable extensions to the device, which can then be executed, leading to arbitrary code execution on the device.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/dlink_dcs931l_upload.rb) targeting a file upload vulnerability (CVE-2015-2049) in D-Link DCS-931L and related network cameras. The exploit requires valid credentials and leverages the setFileUpload functionality to upload arbitrary files to the device's filesystem. It uploads a custom MIPSLE payload to a temporary location, overwrites the /sbin/chpasswd.sh script to execute the payload, and then triggers execution via the setSystemAdmin endpoint. The module also includes cleanup functionality to restore the original chpasswd.sh script. The exploit provides remote code execution capabilities on vulnerable devices. The code is written in Ruby and is designed to be used within the Metasploit framework.
