CVE-2016-0491 is a vulnerability in the Oracle Application Testing Suite component of Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control versions 12.4.0.2 and 12.5.0.2. The vulnerability is reportedly due to improper validation in the UploadFileAction servlet, which allows remote authenticated users to upload and execute arbitrary files by manipulating the fileType parameter (notably by including an asterisk character). This can lead to arbitrary code execution on the affected system.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (oracle_ats_file_upload.rb) that exploits authentication bypass and arbitrary file upload vulnerabilities (CVE-2016-0492 and CVE-2016-0491) in Oracle Application Testing Suite (OATS) version 12.4.0.2.0 and earlier. The exploit works by first checking if the target is running the vulnerable version, then uploading a user-supplied JSP shell payload to a specific directory on the server via a crafted HTTP POST request. After uploading, the module triggers the shell by sending a GET request to the uploaded JSP file, granting remote code execution. The module is operational and requires the attacker to supply a payload, which is encoded as a JSP web shell. The exploit targets both Windows and Linux installations of OATS, and the main attack vector is via the network (HTTP). The code is well-structured, leverages Metasploit's HttpClient and FileDropper mixins, and is suitable for use in penetration testing scenarios.
