CVE-2016-0709 is a directory traversal vulnerability in the Import/Export function of the Portal Site Manager in Apache Jetspeed versions prior to 2.3.1. Remote authenticated administrators can exploit this flaw by uploading a ZIP archive containing entries with directory traversal sequences (e.g., '../../webapps/x.jsp'), allowing them to write files to arbitrary locations on the server. This can be leveraged to upload and execute arbitrary code, such as JSP webshells, leading to full compromise of the application server.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (Ruby file) that exploits two vulnerabilities (CVE-2016-0709 and CVE-2016-0710) in Apache Jetspeed-2 (<=2.3.0). The exploit targets the User Manager REST API and a ZIP file path traversal flaw to upload and execute a JSP web shell. The module works by creating a new admin user, logging in, uploading a malicious ZIP file containing a JSP shell (using a path traversal to place it in the webroot), and then executing the shell for remote code execution. After exploitation, the module attempts to clean up by deleting the created admin user and the uploaded files. The exploit is operational and provides a working shell if successful, but may destabilize the target's web interface. The code is structured as a standard Metasploit exploit module, with clear separation of setup, exploitation, and cleanup routines. The main attack vector is network-based, targeting HTTP endpoints exposed by the vulnerable Jetspeed instance.
