CVE-2016-0777 is an information-disclosure vulnerability in the experimental OpenSSH client connection-roaming implementation. In affected OpenSSH 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x releases before 7.1p2, the resend_bytes function can be induced by a remote SSH server to transmit an entire client-memory buffer rather than only the valid data it contains. The roaming server implementation was never shipped, but roaming support remained enabled by default in clients, allowing a malicious server to abuse the protocol handling and recover sensitive process-memory contents, including private key material.
