CVE-2016-2141 is an improper input-validation vulnerability in JGroups cluster communications. When a new node joined a cluster, JGroups did not require the headers needed by the ENCRYPT and AUTH protocols. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit the missing header validation to bypass cluster security restrictions and interact with the cluster as an unauthorized node.
